Dear Colleagues, developers and researchers
of computer networks, 3-rd issue of magazine "COMPUTER NETWORKS. The theory and practice",
which sums up our three-year activity, is offered to you.
Interest to the magazine is increasing. First of all it
is caused by the fact that in Russia the strong tendency of increasing the number of networks as well as the number of users
is observed in Russia. Also there are essential qualitative changes. Computer networks offer users the increasing opportunities
of solving information and analytical problems. Service of databases in branches and
corporations is being created and organized. Much more attention is given to the
construction of the integrated multipurpose corporate computer networks using
high-speed liaison channels.
System managers and system integrators have a
necessity for quantitative substantiations of accepted decisions. The problems
(tasks) formed by practice, demand development of the applied theory.
It is possible to confirm the
growing interest to magazine BC/NW.
- The
number of visitings of the magazine has exceeded 800.
- The
number of sections of the magazine where articles were sent has reached 18 in third issue of BC/NW.
- 45
authors published 36 articles in third issue of BC/NW.
In the period 14 - 16 October, 2003 the International of Informatisaton
Academy (IIA) together with the Moscow Power Institute (Technical University)
and Moscow State Technical University "STANKIN" organized and hold
the international conference "Information means and technologies" which included
section "Computing systems and networks" which directed by the editor of BC/NW Abrosimov L.I..
The theses of reports and full reports of the authors
participating in the work of the section were included in the present release of magazine
BC/NW.
Collective efforts to study the results
published in the magazine and preparation for the publication of our own results
